The journal header just reads “This is my journey. These are my photographs.” It’s a travel blog of this guy taking photos across the states of the random culture he finds sitting around. Quite the entertaining blog. I haven’t read much of the copy, but the photos tend to speak for themselves.
So you know me, I like my technology. I enjoy using software and web clients that push the boundaries of how technology works. I absolutely enjoy user experience (UX), especially good user experience. A group came out a while ago called Outlook’s Broken, Let’s Fix it, a campaign to Fix Outlook. I stopped using outlook about a year ago when my computer crashed and I lost everything and outlook’s archiving system is a worthless mound of crap. I actually did have everything backed up, but i couldn’t figure out how to unarchive it and the outsourced phone help at Microsoft didn’t even know how to turn Outlook on over there across the world, much less how to help me unarchive emails.
Well Fix Outlook’s campaign led to an official response from Microsoft which is about as useful as Internet Explorer and Outlook capabilities combined, but the worst part about it is that they were douchebags about it. Wow, joining the ranks of American Airlines eh? This whole large corporations fighting back what people are asking of them by being jerks is really not a trend that I feel good about.
If you are into the technology scene these are really good articles to keep up with what is going on with technology. Where the industry is headed. And how Microsoft is not following along.
In my opinion, Microsoft is trying to keep alive a system they made and is now outdated, Much like America Online (AOL) did years ago and failed. Let’s not try to reinvent the wheel here. Just catch up to standards. It’s not that hard!
is what it is. Come on firefox, come on adobe, someone come out with another OS so I don’t have to use Windows anymore. I’m crossing my fingers Windows 7 isn’t utterly worthless but I don’t feel good about it.
Back in May we shot Matt Stansberry’s new EP photography for the album. It is set to release this fall. My good good friend Scott Hill is working on the album artwork and it is going to be amazing.
Thanks to Tanner for the footage. I know we all look coked out of our minds but it’s merely because we were all up at 4am to capture the early morning shoot. We are only one cup of coffee in, not any drugs at all
The Nightmare Series is a three part series. All three have been shot. Two now have been completed and released. Antithesis was the first. The Butcher is the second of the three. The third is The General, which has yet to be completed. I’m hoping for a release in the next month or so.
Thanks to Spencer for some of the heavy post work. Thanks to Tanner for the behind the scenes video. The Butcher was a smaller and lighter shoot than Antithesis and the General, which is probably the most intensive.
So it’s going to be a music day I guess. Wanted to mention Graham’s new release Twenty Something EP. I snuck a listen of the music a few weeks ago over lunch with some friends. It’s available digitally from his website at grahamcolton.com or you can grab a physical copy at his CD release in July here in the 405.
Here’s a preview of Twenty Something.
Great stuff! Amazing sound. Recorded right here in Norman with Jarod Evans (Blackwatch Studios) who also recorded all of the Helium Project stuff.
